Who We Are

Northeast Editing, Inc. is comprised of both on- and offsite authors and educators who have worked together (mostly harmoniously) for many years. We are highly qualified and dedicated to ensuring student success. We maintain long-term relationships with our clients and consider them friends as well as business associates.

Tracey Vasil Biscontini, founder and president of Northeast Editing, Inc., holds bachelor degrees in education and mass communications from King's College and a master's degree in English from the University of Scranton. She is a former educator, journalist, and newspaper columnist whose award-winning writing has appeared in national magazines. She is also a former editor and project editor for Harcourt Brace. Since founding Northeast Editing, Inc. in 1992, Biscontini has managed educational projects and authored test-preparation and library reference content for some of the largest publishers in the United States.

Nicholas Biscontini, business manager, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from King's College. He has managed the finances of Northeast Editing, Inc. since its inception in 1992. His conservative financial management has allowed the company to run smoothly and cut expenses, which, in turn, enables it to offer services at affordable prices.

Trilby F. Greene, managing editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with an emphasis in creative writing, from Pennsylvania State University. Greene has put her outstanding writing, editing, and project management skills to use on many publications for Northeast Editing, Inc. In her free time, Greene copy edits manuscripts for published and aspiring authors, writes fiction and poetry, and enjoys reading, singing, and learning to play her acoustic Fender.

Lindsay M. Rock, senior editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in English from Pennsylvania State University, and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. An exceptional test passage and item-writer, Rock has authored and edited many products for educational publishers. Rock writes test-preparation passages (including poetry, fiction, and nonfiction) that are lively, interesting, and culturally diverse. She is fluent in reading-level assessment and SGML coding. In her free time, Rock enjoys reading mystery novels, searching for the perfect pair of shoes, and fervently watching football.

Mark Dziak, senior editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in writing, from King's College. Dziak has authored educational passages and questions for dozens of tests, often incorporating his love of history into his work. He brings a particularly keen eye for detail to Northeast Editing and works to ensure that our clients' products are top-notch and printer-ready. In his free time, Dziak is an amateur novelist, thinker, treasure hunter, and putterer.

Marie Devers, editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Joseph's University and a master's degree in writing from University of Alaska Fairbanks. An experienced composition and literature instructor, she designs engaging test-preparation materials that entertain while they instruct. Devers writes and publishes fiction and poetry and is currently working on a young adult novel. In her free time, Devers enjoys driving long distances to no particular destination, searching for captivating podcasts, and hoping that the Eagles will one day win the Superbowl.

Rebecca Sparling, editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in journalism, from Marywood University. Sparling has written test-preparation materials for many state examinations. She enjoys examining the impact that popular culture has on society and has presented papers at two national conferences. In her spare time, Sparling enjoys reading young adult novels, watching movies, and running.

Michelle Krapf, editor, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with concentrations in literature and writing and a minor in political science from Wilkes University. Krapf became familiar with various manuals of style while working at Wilkes University's Writing Center and was formerly a copy editor at Thomson Direct. She applies her knowledge of these manuals to her copyediting at Northeast Editing, Inc. She is an aspiring screenwriter and, in her spare time, enjoys reading gothic literature and watching horror movies.

Elizabeth Kibler, editorial assistant, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a concentration in writing from Clarion University. Kibler has worked with Northeast Editing, Inc. on various editing and writing projects. Her sharp attention to detail has made her an invaluable staff member. Her fluid writing style is influenced by her love of creative nonfiction. In her spare time, Kibler enjoys reading, writing, and amateur photography.

Off-site staff: Northeast Editing, Inc. maintains contact with a large pool of talented, experienced educational writers, editors, consultants, and subject matter experts with expertise in many different fields. Many of our freelancers have been trained in-house and are well prepared to assist with large projects when needed.

Tyler and Morgan Biscontini, office kids, grew up at Northeast Editing, Inc. Technological gurus and reading and writing whiz-kids, they can often be found quarreling at the spare office computer or harassing the editors.

Bailey, office dog, spends at least part of her day at Northeast Editing, Inc. where she enjoys kissing the staff and growling at the mailman.

Prince William, resident office cat, was rescued by the staff of Northeast Editing, Inc. when he was discovered hungry, bedraggled, and lonely. He now lives a life of luxury, napping in in-boxes and chasing crumpled Post-Its.
