Managing Editor/Senior Project Manager
Lindsay Rock Rohland arrived at Northeast Editing, Inc., as a fresh-faced graduate of Penn State University in 2003, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English. She had just completed an internship with a local television news station and was eager to begin work as a part-time employee. Within a few months, Lindsay had been hired full time as an editorial assistant, and from there, she worked her way up to editor and then senior editor. In 2009, she was promoted to managing editor/senior project manager, a position she still holds today.
In her time at Northeast Editing, Lindsay has gained more than ten years’ experience in educational publishing. Her expertise lies in K–12 assessment, writing passages and items aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). She also has overseen the management of a large, ongoing editorial project for several years. One of her favorite projects, however, was coauthoring Firefighter Exam For Dummies (Wiley, 2011).
“Working on Firefighter Exam For Dummies allowed me to combine my experiences as a former volunteer firefighter with my passion for writing,” said Lindsay. “An added bonus is that the book is designed to help others achieve their goals.”
When Lindsay’s not at work, she spends most of her free time with her husband, Shaun, and two “fur kids” (cat Leonardo and dog Nellie). She also enjoys reading crime novels, traveling (especially to warm places with sandy beaches), cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions, and expanding her massive shoe collection.
